CHEM 589 - Biomolecular Spectroscopy

★ 3 (fi 6)(EITHER, 3-0-0)

Faculty of Science

Electronic and vibrational spectroscopic techniques, photochemistry, and their application to biological molecules. Particular emphasis on the use of absorption, luminescence, infrared, and Raman spectroscopies, and dichroic techniques in probing the structure and dynamics of biological molecules. A significant portion of the course will be a literature analysis of 1-3 recent research papers. Not open to students with credit in CHEM 489.
