Job/Research Area: Ecology, conservation and evolutionary biology

Research

Major Responsibilities/Research Interests: Ecosystem-based forest management and agroforestry systems; effects of natural and anthropogenic disturbances on forest invertebrate populations and communities and their contributions to ecosystem function; forest insect pest management, especially the contribution of host defenses to natural resistance; spread, distribution and impacts of introduced, invasive species; arthropod life-history strategies; natural hybridization between insect species and its evolutionary significance; and the biology and systematics of carabid beetles, gerromorphan bugs and pisaurid spiders.
