Overview

About

Gabriela holds a BSc PT from University of Sao Paulo, Brazil and a MSc in Exercise Science from Concordia University, Canada.  She obtained her physiotherapy equivalence in Canada in 2009. Since then, she has worked in both the French and English environments, in different areas, including acute care, outpatient neurological rehabilitation and return to work. She joined the University of Alberta in 2013 as a teaching assistant for the Internationally Educated Physiotherapist Bridging Program while continuing to do clinical work. In 2016 Gabriela joined the University of Alberta as a full-time Instructor at the Calgary Satellite.


Research

Research interests: neurological rehabilitation and community integration.

Courses

PTHER 525 - Professional Issues II

Continuation of the study of professional issues relevant to the practice of physical therapy in Canada and globally. Topics include cultural issues, disability ethics and an introduction to Health Promotion. Prerequisite: PTHER 524.
