Dr. Alicia Strand is currently appointed as Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Medicine. She graduated from the University of Alberta medical school, then completed her Core Internal Medicine residency and General Internal Medicine subspecialty training at the University of Alberta. She completed her training and joined the Division of General Internal Medicine in 2020.

Dr. Strand practices general internal medicine on inpatient wards, consult services, and outpatient clinics, all of which include clinical teaching.  Her non-clinical time is split between non-clinical teaching, educational administration, and educational scholarship.  Her current educational/administrative portfolios include Associate Program Director (Assessment) for the Core Internal Medicine Residency Program and Assistant Director of Competency-Based Medical Education implementation for postgraduate programs at the UofA.
