About

As a physiotherapist and rehabilitation researcher, I bridge clinical insight with data-driven inquiry to improve outcomes for children and youth with rare musculoskeletal conditions and adults with neurological conditions. My work focuses on advancing mobility assessment, patient-centred measurement, and knowledge translation to close the Research-to-Practice gap in rehabilitation.

I have a Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Science from McGill University, where I led a multi-centre research on Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita (AMC) through the North American AMC Registry. My doctoral research generated new evidence on the validity, interpretability, and clinical application of mobility outcome measures, as well as developmental profiles and functional factors in AMC.

Currently, I am a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Alberta, Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine, working on patient-centred outcome measurement and learning health systems in stroke, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury rehabilitation. I am also engaged in knowledge-translation initiatives that transform research into accessible, evidence-informed tools for clinicians, families, and people with lived experience.

My academic foundation includes an MSc in Neurorehabilitation (University of Nottingham, UK) and a BSc in Physiotherapy (Tripoli University, Libya). I remain committed to advancing global rehabilitation practice through innovation, collaboration, and equitable knowledge sharing.
