About
Dr. Andre Isaac is an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Alberta. Dr. Isaac received his MD from the University of Alberta in 2013, after which he completed a surgical residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Alberta. Following this he went on to complete an advanced surgical fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology and Airway Reconstruction at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago (Northwestern University). During his surgical training, Dr. Isaac also completed a Master of Science in Global Health Policy at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, UK (2017). He currently serves as the Discovery Learning Lead for the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry MD Program. His clinical and research interests are in pediatric airway and swallowing disorders, pediatric endoscopic and open airway reconstruction, and Global Surgery in resource-limited settings.

Teaching
Dr. Isaac leads the Discovery Learning Program for the MD Program. He is an active member of the teaching faculty in the Division of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery as well as the Division of Pediatric Surgery. He is a regular instructor in the Otolaryngology Resident Seminar Series, as well as leading the block examination series for Otolaryngology residents. He also is a regular instructor in the undergraduate medical education Neurosciences block for the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, and an instructor for the University of Alberta Pediatric Residency Program Academic Half-day.
