Dr. Amany Saad is a Clinical Lecturer in the Division of Geriatric Medicine at the University of Alberta and a practicing geriatrician with Alberta Health Services. She joined Alberta Health Services in 2021 and is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of older adults through compassionate, patient-centred care.

Dr. Saad graduated from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt, where she also completed her specialty training in Geriatric Medicine. She earned a Master of Science (MSc) in Geriatric Health Care Services and a PhD focused on the early diagnosis of dementia, reflecting her longstanding commitment to advancing care for older adults with cognitive impairment.

From 2011 to 2012, Dr. Saad completed a fellowship at the University of Toronto, where she further developed her expertise in geriatric medicine and the care of older adults with complex health needs.

Her clinical and academic interests include dementia, frailty, healthy aging, comprehensive geriatric assessment, and innovative models of memory care. She is particularly interested in early recognition of cognitive disorders and developing accessible, patient-centred services that support individuals living with dementia and their caregivers.

Dr. Saad is actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals. She is passionate about promoting excellence in geriatric care and contributing to the development of healthcare systems that meet the growing needs of an aging population.
