About

Dr. Ahmed Hussain is a Canadian board-certified Prosthodontist and clinician-scientist with a strong focus on restorative and implant dentistry. He holds a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), Doctor of Medical Science (DMedSc), Master of Science (MSc) in Prosthodontics, and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.

Dr. Hussain’s research program centers on prosthodontics, restorative dentistry, biomaterials, digital dentistry, and emerging applications of artificial intelligence in clinical decision-making and treatment planning. His work emphasizes evidence-based, biomimetic, and minimally invasive approaches aimed at improving long-term clinical outcomes in complex restorative and implant cases.

Clinically, Dr. Hussain has extensive expertise in fixed prosthodontics, implant rehabilitation, and interdisciplinary treatment planning. He is actively involved in translating research innovations into clinical practice and education. Prior to joining the University of Alberta, he served as Assistant Professor in Prosthodontics and Director of the Digital Dentistry Program at the University of Saskatchewan. He currently serves as Discipline Lead of Restorative Dentistry and Director of the Dental Implant Clinic, where he oversees clinical education, curriculum development, and advanced patient care.
