About
Anduamlak Takele is a PhD student in the Department of Sociology at the University of Alberta, Canada. He is also a Research Associate in the Department of Social Work and Community Development at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa, and a Sociology lecturer at Debre Markos University in Ethiopia. Recently, he was awarded the prestigious 2024 Law and Society Graduate Student Scholar Award (USA). His research interests include youth and crime, care-leaving in Africa, critical socio-legal studies, human rights, critical criminology, and gerontology. Additionally, Anduamlak Takele is a member of international and national care-leaving research networks, such as INTRAC and ANCR. Furthermore, he is a member of the Canadian Sociological Association and the Law and Society Association.
