Designed for majors and Honors students in Economics. Theories of stabilization policy; expectations; the government budget constraint; inflation and unemployment; business cycles and growth; theories of aggregate consumption, investment, money demand, and money supply. Prerequisites: ECON 109, ECON 281, 282 and 299 or equivalent, and MATH 156 or equivalent.Winter Term 2022
Analysis of various macroeconomic theories with emphasis on data analysis and measurement at the aggregate and disaggregate levels. Topics include measurement of economic growth, unemployment, income inequality, institutions, trade, human capital, and firm size, both across and within countries. Prerequisites: ECON 109, ECON 282 and 299 or equivalent.Fall Term 2021
An examination of the core topics in macroeconomic theory. These will generally include methods of modelling output, employment, prices, business cycles, and macroeconomic policy. Prerequisite or corequisite: ECON 481 and 482 or equivalent.Fall Term 2021
