About
Dr. Andrea Yu, MD FRCPC, is a child and adolescent psychiatrist who completed her medical school training in Calgary and then went on to complete her training in general psychiatry as well as subspecialty training in Edmonton. As Medical Director for CASA Mental Health, she leads a team of over 20 physicians. She works as an outpatient psychiatrist in the Trauma Clinic, seeing patients in her office as well as co-facilitating the Teen Trauma and Attachment Group. She also practices at Royal Alexandra Hospital as an inpatient psychiatrist and provides coverage to the Stollery Emergency Department. In her previous work with Recovery Alberta, she has acted as Zone Clinical Department Facility Site Chief for the Royal Alexandra Hospital and Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital as the medical leader for tertiary services in child psychiatry in Edmonton. Her past experiences include practicing in community in an addictions program and an early psychosis program. Along with her clinical and administrative roles, Dr. Yu is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Alberta, supporting training for the general Psychiatry program as well as the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry program. Dr. Yu is committed to compassionate, inclusive care that empowers children, youth, and families to thrive through community connection, collaboration, and culturally safe, outcomes-based support.
