Overview
About
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Oncology at the University of Alberta and a Medical Oncologist at the Cross Cancer Institute. I completed my general medical and specialist training in Medical Oncology in Australia. Following this, I undertook fellowships in melanoma at the Melanoma Institute Australia in Sydney and at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester, United Kingdom.
Prior to joining the University of Alberta, I worked as a Medical Oncologist at Royal Darwin Hospital in the Northern Territory, Australia, where I served as both Head of Department and Director of Cancer Services.
My clinical expertise focuses on the management of breast cancer and cutaneous malignancies, with a particular interest in clinical trials and clinical research. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Trials Research from the University of Sydney and have served as both Principal Investigator and Sub-Investigator on numerous industry-sponsored clinical trials.
I am also passionate about advancing quality, safety, and equity in healthcare, particularly for Aboriginal and Indigenous populations. To further develop these interests, I completed the Safety, Quality, Informatics, and Leadership (SQIL) Certificate Program through Harvard University. I remain committed to pursuing opportunities that enhance healthcare quality and patient outcomes while contributing to leadership initiatives within oncology and healthcare systems.
