About

I received my BSc in Nursing in 2006 from the University of Alberta and focused my clinical practice in Neonatal Intensive Care at the University of Virginia Children's Hospital and the Royal Alexandra Hospital. I returned to the UofA in 2019 to complete the Master of Nursing Program and graduated with an Embedded Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Nursing Education December 2022. I currently work as the Research Director in the College of Health Sciences.

Research

My masters work focused on the creation of a learner-centered planetary health module for undergraduate nursing students. As a Research Assistant at the University of Alberta and University of Saskatchewan, I helped carry out nursing research projects in Healthy Aging, Mental health and Planetary Health. I supported planetary health education developement for nursing through my involvement with the Canadian Association of Nurses for the Environment, the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing Planetary Health Nurse Educator Interest Group.

Currently, I work with the Climate Change + Health Hub Steering Committee as a leader, educator and organizer, with the goal of bringing climate networks together to break down silos and coordinate collective action.
