I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Alberta. I have a Honors BA from the University of Alberta and an MA and PhD from the University of British Columbia. When I am not working, I enjoy running, hiking, and biking. I have two amazing daughters.
I am interested in the interaction between the decisions made by policy makers and regulated parties.
My research is primarily in the field of environmental economics. I have a particular interest in the enforcement of environmental regulations and have examined the use of warnings and the increasing reliance on public complaints to enforce environmental standards. I am currently studying the use of creative sentences in Alberta.
