Overview
About
I am currently a Research Partner under the Vice-President Research and Innovation (VPRI) portfolio, supporting researchers across the College of Natural and Applied Sciences in developing competitive research proposals for grant applications. I seek to provide researchers with comprehensive funding information and connect them with resources to streamline their grant application processes, with the goal of improving proposal success rates and bringing more external research funding to the university.
I joined the University of Alberta in 2012, first as a student and later as a research staff. I have extensive experience developing research proposals for submission to funding agencies and industrial collaborators, having participated as a student, HQP, project manager, and, in some cases, as project lead and PI. I hope to leverage this experience to help researchers across the university achieve their goals.
Research
I have a BSc (2012) in Materials Science and Engineering and obtained both my Master's (2015) and PhD (2019) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta, where my research focused on developing pharmaceutical formulations for inhalation targeting airway diseases, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), tuberculosis, influenza, etc. As a research scientist, my research interests cover inhalation formulation development, particle engineering, microparticle encapsulation of biologics, advanced pharmaceutics characterization, etc.
I have published over 30 peer-reviewed articles and contributed to more than 30 international conferences. Additionally, I have served as a reviewer and guest editor for several journals, including the International Journal of Pharmaceutics, Journal of Aerosol Science, AAPS PharmSciTech, Pharmceutical Research, and Frontiers in Drug Delivery. Selected journal publications are as follows:
