About

Dr. Abbas Hyderi has been appointed Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. He is a Neonatal Intensivist for the Northern Alberta Neonatal Program at Stollery Children’s Hospital. He completed his Neonatal-Perinatal fellowship training at the University of Calgary and a further two years of PGME training at the University of Alberta in Clinical and Research Fellowship in Neonatal Cardiology and Echocardiography. He is the Program Director for the Neonatal Hemodynamics and Targeted Neonatal Echocardiography Program at the University of Alberta. 





Research

His passions include research and education and advancing neonatal hemodynamics academic learning. Hemodynamic research interests include PDA and transitional physiology, including multimodal assessments (e.g., NIRS). He also has special research training and interests in advanced cardiac imaging, including deformation and rotation imaging.



Teaching

He is the Program Director for the Neonatal Hemodynamics and Targeted Neonatal Echocardiography Program at the University of Alberta
