Maria Ioannou is currently appointed as Assistant Professor in the Department of Physiology in the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry.

Research

Our lab aims to understand how lipid trafficking affects neuronal function in development, stroke and Alzheimer's disease. In order to study lipid trafficking we use a combination of biochemistry and microscopy in primary neurons and in vivo mouse models.
