Major Responsibilities/Research Interests

Forest zoology, conservation biology and environmental interpretation. Research efforts in recent years have focused on wildlife users, eco­tourism and changing trends in wildland recreation.

Awards

  • 1997 - Annual award of the Environmental and Outdoor Education Council of the Alberta Teacher's Association "In recognition of services and contributions made in furthering the goals of environmental and outdoor education."
  • 1998 - Honored with students on the Florida trip by U of A for exemplary conduct regarding victims of tornado catastrophe for which students assisted.
  • 1998 - Destination Conservation Annual Environmental Education Award, "For outstanding commitment to Alberta's spaces and species," presented at the Edmonton Space and Sciences Centre, presented by Brian Staszenski of Edmonton Environmental Resource Centre.
