About

I earned a PhD in Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology from the University of Toronto (2012) and medical degree from Queen’s University (2016). I completed residency in adult neurology at the University of Alberta (2016-2021), followed by a clinical and research fellowship in movement disorders as an Edmond J. Safra fellow at the Montreal Neurological Institute (2021-2023), and a clinical fellowship in sleep neurology at the University of Toronto (2023-2024).  

I joined the Parkinson and Movement Disorders Program (Division of Neurology) and the Sleep Medicine Program (Division of Pulmonology) in 2024 and I am currently assistant professor of medicine at the University of Alberta.

Research

My research focuses upon the prodromal stages of Parkinson’s disease, including the progression of clinical, physiological, and neuroimaging biomarkers in patients with REM sleep behavior disorder, as they progress towards overt diseases (primarily Parkinson's disease, Lewy body dementia, and multiple system atrophy). I am also interested in the remote monitoring and diagnosis of sleep disorders.
