Dr. Jason Carey is a Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Alberta.
He is interested in Biomedical Engineering and Composite Materials. Teaching
Dr. Carey is an avid instructor. He is passionate about design and engaging students in new ways to make them think and challenge their preconceptions and become better engineers. He is well known for having co-developed MECE 415 Busting Myths with Analysis (loosely based on the mythbusters show), creating the first year design course ENGG 160 and worked heavily on the curriculum of MECE 260, 360 and 380, and redeveloping with his team ENGG 400. He was the University of Alberta's 2020 Vargo Teaching Chair, the institutions top teaching award.
