About

I am a Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon primarily based at the Royal Alexandra Hospital with a specialization in Post-Bariatric (Massive Weight Loss) and Aesthetic Body Contouring Surgery.  I am an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Division of Plastic Surgery.  I have been the Program Director for the Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Residency Training Program at the University of Alberta (2012-2018).  

I obtained my Bachelor of Science (General), Bachelor of Science (Medicine), and Doctor of Medicine (MD) at the University of Manitoba (Winnipeg, Manitoba).  

I completed my Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery residency at the University of Alberta and subsequently further specialized in Post-Bariatric (Massive Weight Loss) and Aesthetic Body Contouring Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh at the Life After Weight Loss Program.

Teaching

As the former Program Director for the Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Residency Training Program at the University of Alberta (2012 to 2018), I have a significant interest in the education of residents and medical students.  I have been active on the Plastic Surgery Specialty Committee at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (Ottawa) and have been a Faculty Member at the Canadian Plastic Surgery Chief Resident Review Course (Ottawa) for a number of years.
