About

Karishma Dsa is a Research Assistant in the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. She is a registered dentist from Mumbai, India and holds a Master of Public Health from Adelphi University, New York. Her interdisciplinary background in clinical dentistry and public health informs her research interests in rural and remote health, pharmacy access, health equity, community-based research, and primary care.

With research experience spanning public health, pharmacy practice, and community-based research, Karishma has worked closely with rural and Indigenous communities to understand barriers to healthcare access and identify opportunities to strengthen health services. Her work utilizes mixed-methods approaches, including qualitative research, quantitative data analysis, community engagement, and knowledge translation. She is particularly interested in developing evidence-informed, community-driven approaches to improving healthcare access and advancing health equity in rural and remote communities.
