About

Dr. King completed her medical training at the University of Alberta and Cross Cancer Institute. She is a medical oncologist with clinical assignments within the Breast Tumour Group and the Gastrointestinal Tumour Group. She has also worked as a consultant medical oncologist to the Medicine Hat Cancer Centre for the past three years.

Dr. King's research interests include both clinic and laboratory based research. She is the site Principal Investigator for the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP) at the Cross Cancer Institute. Her laboratory research interests inlcude characterization of transport of nucleoside analogues into mitochondria, characterization of a nucleoside exchange protein in mitochondria, and optimization of chemotherapeutic nucleoside analog therapy using RNA interference technology.
