Overview

About

I have served for many years in leadership roles in education, health and research in the Northwest Territories as superintendent of education for the Beaufort Delta Education Council, as regional wellness director for the Gwich'in Tribal Council, and director of research development for the Institute of Circumpolar Health Research.

I incorporate my knowledge of teaching and learning strategies with first-hand experience of being an Indigenous graduate student and traditional Indigenous values and knowledge to enhance the learning environment at the School of Public Health.

Specifically, I support Inuvik-based students by providing seminars on distance learning strategies and I co-supervise graduate students who are applying traditional knowledge in their research, and community-based methods and knowledge translation through Indigenous governments and northern communities.
