Overview

About

Dr. Noelle Liwski is a Registered Psychologist. She completed her PhD in Counselling Psychology at Purdue University. She completed her APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship and postdoctoral residency in the US Veterans Affairs Health Care System, where she specialized in Medical/Health Psychology and Palliative Care. She worked as a Clinical Psychologist at Cross Cancer’s Department of Psychosocial and Spiritual Resources for nearly 4 years and worked on the Grey Nuns’ Tertiary Palliative Care Unit for almost 2 years. She now does private practice work, as co-owner of the Blue Sky Psychology Group. 

In addition to her faculty appointment in the Department of Oncology, Dr. Liwski is also adjunct faculty  in the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Alberta. Her clinical and research interests include mindfulness- and values-based treatment approaches, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), therapeutic assessment, and program evaluation. She is a member of the College of Alberta Psychologists and the Psychologists' Association of Alberta. She is also a member of the Division of Palliative Medicine Professional Wellness Group and Residency Training Committee. She has supervised psychology pre-doctoral interns and practicum students in psychosocial oncology and medical residents in palliative care. Dr. Liwski is interested in evaluating the effectiveness of psychosocial oncology interventions and developing training programs in psychosocial palliative care for psychology residents.
