About

Personal Statement:
I have a keen interest in medical education with the goal to expand scholarly focus on curriculum development and faculty development. I focus on innovative ways to implement Best Evidence Medical Education Curriculum for the promotion of the highest standards in Endocrinology subspecialty training and continuous professional learning. I closely work with RCPSC subspecialty committee, Canadian Society of Endocrinology and Diabetes Canada to ensure excellent training and professional development to shape the Endocrinology practice in Canada.

Dr. Mahua Ghosh was recruited to the Department of Medicine in 2011, having completed a PhD in pharmacology, a residency in internal medicine and subspecialty training in endocrinology. She also completed a certificate in Medical Education from the University of Dundee in 2017.

Leadership and Collaborations:
Dr. Ghosh is program director of the adult endocrinology subspecialty resident training program. She launched an Educational Complex Type 2 Diabetes/Metabolic Clinic to help increase residents’ clinical exposure. She serves on the Canadian Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism as a Council Member and a member of the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Committee. She successfully advocated to incorporate transgender medicine as an Objective of Training for endocrinology for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC). She is working on the new RCPSC Accreditation Standards in CPD activity for endocrinologists. She is also a member of the Program Planning Committee for Diabetes Canada’s annual meeting. Locally, she is a member of the executive committee for the Edmonton chapter of Diabetes Canada."

Clinical Interests

Dr. Ghosh is full-time medical staff at the University of Alberta Hospital and leads the Multidisciplinary Complex Type 2 Diabetes clinic at the Kaye Edmonton Clinic.
