Dr. Marcelo Marcet-Palacios is currently appointed as Assistant Adjunct Professor in the Department of Medicine in the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry.

Research

My lab is interested in the structure-function relationships that enable biological systems. Our work on the superstructure of the HIV-1 matrix (MA) shell helped us predict a new model of viral entry facilitating our efforts to improve understanding of the biology of this pathogen. My lab also studies the structural configurations of human chromatin, specifically the role of homology in DNA loop formation.
