Overview

About

I am a doctoral nursing candidate with a Master's degree in Nursing (specialty in aging) and a Graduate-Embedded Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Nursing Education from the University of Alberta. Professionally, I am a registered nurse, nurse educator, health equity researcher, and virtual immunization counsellor with professional training in motivational interviewing. My nursing clinical practice experiences include industrial nursing, long-term care, acute mental health and addictions, as well as sexually-transmitted and blood-borne infections.

Research

My research interests include HPV vaccination, health equity, intersectionality, and the well-being of Black and racialized children. My doctoral research is currently exploring ways to maximize equitable access to human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination in limited-resource regions of the world, particularly Ghana. As part of my engagement in the Applied Immunization Research Program at the Faculty of Nursing, I have been involved in several immunization research projects and have developed expertise in qualitative research practices and data analysis. My research experiences include research protocol development, ethics application, data collection, and knowledge dissemination.
