About

I am a Ph.D. student in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Alberta, focusing on the field of spintronics. My research explores the behavior of spin-polarized carriers in carbon nanotubes functionalized with chiral molecules, with applications in sensing, information processing, and data storage. I hold a B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology in Bangladesh. My academic journey has been recognized with awards like the Alberta Innovates Graduate Student Scholarship and the Alberta Graduate Excellence Scholarship.

Beyond research, I’ve served as a Graduate Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant, contributing to both my learning and the academic community. I’ve also held leadership roles, including President of the ECE Graduate Students' Association, where I’ve advocated for students and helped organize key events.

My work has been published in journals such as Nanoscale Horizons and ACS Nano, with some featured on journal covers. Additionally, I’ve been actively involved in student organizations like the IEEE SUST Student Branch and RoboSUST, organizing seminars and workshops.

Technically, I have skills in photolithography, SEM, Raman spectroscopy, and programming in C/C++, Python, and VHDL. I’m driven by a passion for innovation and look forward to making further contributions to the field of spintronics.

Research

My research interests focus on the intersection of spintronics and nanotechnology, particularly in understanding and manipulating spin-polarized carriers in nanoscale systems. I am intrigued by Chirality-Induced Spin Selectivity (CISS) and its potential in enhancing spin-based electronics through chiral molecules functionalized with carbon nanotubes. My work involves the fabrication and characterization of nanoelectronic devices aimed at improving information processing, data storage, and sensing technologies. I am also interested in the fundamental physics of spin transport in low-dimensional systems, such as carbon nanotubes and 2D materials, which could lead to breakthroughs in quantum computing and next-generation electronics. Additionally, I study magnetoresistance and spin-orbit coupling effects in functionalized nanomaterials, exploring their potential for innovative spintronic applications. To support my research, I utilize advanced characterization techniques like photolithography, SEM, Raman spectroscopy, and low-temperature transport measurements, all contributing to my goal of developing novel technologies that leverage the unique properties of spin-polarized carriers in nanomaterials.
