About

I am a Research Partner in the Vice-President and Innovation (VPRI) Portfolio at the University of Alberta, where I support Indigenous researchers and researchers engaged in Indigenous research across the institution.  Previously, I worked with an Indigenous non-profit organization in Alberta, developing and implementing programs to support Métis economic reconciliation.  I was also part of the multidisciplinary team that planned the 2022 Kikapekiskewin (Future Conversations in Nehiyaw) Conference on Indigenous Research Ethics and its associated eight-part podcast series exploring Indigenous cultural values in post-secondary research. I am currently completing a Master of Integrated Studies (Community Development) at Athabasca University and hold a BA in Sociology and Political Science from MacEwan University.

From amiskwacîwâskahikan, I am a Métis woman with roots in Rooster Town, Manitoba (paternal), and Gift Lake Métis Settlement, Alberta (maternal). As a first-generation post-secondary student, I am dedicated to honoring the knowledge of my community and reciprocating its gifts. My education honors their legacy.
