Overview

About

Dr. Oluseyi Oladele (Olu) is a family physician with a focused practice in addiction medicine, delivering care primarily through virtual platforms. His work is grounded in the belief that care improves when patients feel seen, supported, and able to access services reliably. He helps patients across Alberta access opioid agonist therapy and related services, with a commitment to clinical excellence, dignity, and equitable outcomes.

Olu teaches and mentors medical learners in various clinical and academic settings and is affiliated with the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Alberta. He also served as a Councillor with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta, contributing to regulatory policy, physician development, and health system governance.

His broader professional interests include health-systems improvement, virtual care design, and the ethical use of artificial intelligence in healthcare. Through work with Alberta’s virtual addiction and primary care programs, Olu has learned that while digital tools expand reach, trust ultimately shapes the patient experience. This insight guides his focus on strong governance, safe adoption of emerging technologies, and system innovations that scale empathy while reducing harm.

Olu continues to explore the promise and limitations of AI in health and is completing formal coursework in AI applications for medicine. He is particularly interested in how technology can support more dependable, accessible models of care without losing the human thread.

Outside of clinical and academic work, he enjoys life with his wife and three children, often in the midst of a project, a good conversation, or an unexpected adventure.
