About
Postdoctoral Fellow at Dr. Dawei Zhang's Lab, Department of Pediatrics, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry.
My studies focus on the translational investigation of plant bioactive compounds in chronic disease conditions. I demonstrate a broad expertise in the use of various cell lines, animal models, and in randomized controlled clinical trials. From the elucidation of potential druggable targets to the demonstration of preclinical and clinical efficacy of promising bioactive compounds, my studies aim to find cost-effective treatments for diabetes and lipid-related disorders.
I am a recipient of several prestigious fellowships and awards including the CIHR Postdoctoral Fellowship Award, Heart and Stroke Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship Award (declined in favor of the CIHR award), Mitacs Accelerate Postdoctoral Fellowship Award, and the Medstar Award from the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, U of A.
