Overview

About

I am the Regional Laboratory Medicine Site Chief for the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, Alberta Precision Laboratories, and a general pathologist practising in Red Deer, Alberta. I completed medical school at the University of Toronto and took my residency training in General Pathology at Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS.

I hold Assistant Clinical Professorships at both the University of Alberta and the University of Calgary.

Beyond my APL duties, I currently serve as the Vice-Chair of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) Specialty Committee for General Pathology, and sit as a community representative on the RCPSC Specialty Committee for Medical Biochemistry. I am also an Examiner for the RCPSC General Pathology Exam Board, and was the inaugural Chair of the Section for General Pathology for the Canadian Association of Pathologists in 2016-2017.

My professional interests and responsibilities include surgical pathology, hematology, transfusion medicine, clinical biochemistry, rural lab medicine and lab leadership. I am passionate about general pathology and always eager to speak to trainees about the breadth and opportunities in our excellent specialty!
