Overview
About
I'm a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Alberta investigating LGBTQ+ entrepreneurship across Canada. My research explores how social, technological, and market disruptions are redefining our understandings of work. From the deadly AIDS epidemic to professional video gaming, I dive into novel or extreme settings that magnify the uncertainty many workers face today, analyzing how these challenges shape their professional identities. I specialize in qualitative methods through a mix of fieldwork, archival data, and digital ethnography. Before joining academia, I worked in high-tech startups in Silicon Valley and a writer, educator, and consultant in trans health advocacy.
