Overview
About
Ben is currently appointed as Clinical Professor in the Department of Pediatrics in the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry. He has worked clinically in the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit as an Attending Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist since September 2015. Prior that he had been an Attending Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist at Sickkids Hospital in Toronto from 2007-2015 inclusive.
Ben was previously the Medical Director of the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at the Stollery Children's Hospital as part of the Stollery Cardiac Program from August 2019-April 2026.
Ben is formally trained in Pediatric Cardiology (Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, 2002-2005) and Pediatric Critical Care (Royal Children's Melbourne, Australia, 2006-2007).
Research
Ben is formally trained in Clinical Research Methods through a Masters in Science through the Rackham School of Public Health at the University of Michigan (2007-2009). He has been involved in multi-institution clinical research through the NHLBI-PHN, Critical Care Trials Group Canada and PC4. His current research interests/focus include:

Extracorporeal life support
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation in PCICU
Long Term ND developmental outcomes in Critically Ill neonates, infants and children
