About

At the University of Alberta, Dr. Lowe completed her Doctor of Medicine with Honors in Research degree in 2003, and her Palliative Care Medicine Residency in 2006. Supported by an Alberta Heritage Foundation for Medical Research Clinical Fellowship Award, she completed her Master of Science in Oncology degree at the University of Alberta in 2008. Supported by an Alberta Cancer Foundation Roche Fellowship Award in Translational Research, Dr. Lowe completed her PhD in Palliative Care degree at the Division of Health Research, Lancaster University, United Kingdom in 2017. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Palliative Medicine and Clinician Investigator Program. 

Since 2008, Dr. Lowe is a palliative care physician consultant in Alberta Health Services, working as a member of a multidisciplinary team providing palliative care in a variety of health care settings. Since 2016, she is currently the Provincial Clinical Knowledge Lead in Palliative Care for Alberta Health Services.

Teaching

Dr. Lowe presently teaches Pain & Symptom Management: Care of the Imminently Dying and Palliative Sedation in the Seminar Series to the Palliative Medicine Residents.
