About
Nooshin Salari is currently an assistant professor in Engineering Management at the University of Alberta. Prior to joining U of A, Dr. Salari was a research associate at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. She was also an NSERC Postdoctoral Fellow jointly appointed at the department of Industrial Engineering & Operations Research, UC-Berkeley and Rotman School of Management, where she spent two years applying her expertise in data analytics and operations research to improve the delivery service quality in online retailing. She received her PhD in Operations Research from the University of Toronto in 2019.
Dr. Salari's research interests are in smart manufacturing, data-driven decision-making, large-scale optimization problems using the theory and the application of Markov decision processes, and approximate dynamic programming. Her research has been published in Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, Annals of OR, International Journal of Production Economics, and Naval Research Logistics, among others.

ENG M 530 - Engineering Project Management
Introduction to project management tools, techniques, templates, and methodologies. This course examines the eight knowledge areas of the Project Management Institute (PMI) which provide an integrated approach to managing engineering projects. Prerequisites: One of ENGG 310, 401 or ENG M 310, 401.
ENG M 620 - Engineering Economic Analysis
Advanced topics in engineering economics, including operating and capital budgets, financial statement use by engineering managers, replacement analysis, cost of capital and leasing, risk-based financial decision-making for technology investment using real options valuation.
