Sharon is a Research Partner at the University of Alberta, supporting researchers across the Faculty of Engineering and the University in identifying and securing research funding and developing strategic research partnerships. More than 25 years of experience in higher education, research, and academic program development in Canada and the UK, including extensive experience in grant development from a research program administration, and research communications.

Sharon's funding portfolio includes NSERC Alliance, Alberta Innovates, Mitacs, Emissions Reduction Alberta (ERA), and Natural Resources Canada (NRCan). She works closely with researchers to identify appropriate funding opportunities and develop competitive proposals.

Sharon began her academic career at the University of Gloucestershire in the UK in 2002, where she spent 18 years as a senior lecturer. After returning to Canada in 2018, she joined the University of Alberta as a Research Communications Coordinator with the Transportation Engineering research group before moving into the Research Partner role. She has been part of the Research Partner Network since 2024, providing specialized research-funding expertise and strategic support to researchers across the colleges.
