About
Christian Pak is appointed to the position of Project Manager for the Consortium for Distributed and Passive Sensing and the Quantum Horizons Alberta project in the Department of Physics, where his responsibilities include assistance with project administration, knowledge dissemination and mobilisation, and strategic development works for both the Consortium and the Research Project.
Research
Christian is also a researcher in East Asian Studies. His interests lie in early and mediaeval Chinese (220-1279) literature and its literary reception in modern China, along with the relationship between historiography and literature. He received his research postgraduate training at the University of Alberta (Canada) and the University of Hong Kong, where his thesis explores Chen Zi'ang (fl.ca. 658-699) and his literary exchanges with his peers, clergy, and patrons. Recently, he has been (re)thinking the position of historiography in modern Chinese literature, which involves how contemporary Chinese internet writers write literature by rewriting premodern Chinese history.
