Background
Following graduation, Chris worked in private practice for six years. In that time he also completed locum work in long term care, home care and plastics along with working as a Professional Practice Lead for the former East Central Health region. While originally committed to the private practice and orthopedic/sports world of physical therapy, his new found passion is in the areas of health science education and assessment along with community based physical therapy and health promotion.
Over the past twenty years, Chris has completed his acupuncture certification through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada, has been Certified in Gunn IMS, and has taken several courses in manual and manipulative therapy. He has also developed and instructed several inter-professional therapeutic exercise courses, fall-prevention seminars, along with general health and wellness seminars. Chris was the Augustana Athletics Physiotherapist from 2011 until 2019.
In August of 2009, Chris began working full-time with the Physical Therapy Department in developing and implementing the Augustana MScPT Satellite Campus in Camrose, Alberta. This exciting initiative was designed to increase rural exposure to students who have an interest and aptitude in the unique aspects of rural living and rehabilitation practice. This distributed education project utilized the latest technologies and teaching tools to create a very unique and diversified learning environment.
