The Department of Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and Management (SEM) in the Alberta School of Business, University of Alberta, invites applications for a tenure-track position. While we are seeking to strengthen our outstanding expertise in Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and Management, an ability to teach in areas such as strategy and leadership is desired. The Department of Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and Management (SEM) in the Alberta School of Business, University of Alberta, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. Appointments at a more senior level (Associate or Full Professor) may be considered depending on qualifications and experience.

The anticipated start date is July 1, 2025 or soon thereafter.

For an appointment at the Assistant Professor level, candidates will have graduated from an accredited PhD program in strategy, entrepreneurship, management, or a closely related discipline, with demonstrated potential to publish top-level research and achieve teaching excellence. Candidates who are close to PhD completion may be considered; however, the appointment will be contingent upon the completion of the PhD by an agreed-upon date. Success in obtaining research grants and scholarly activities will also be considered. Appointments at a more senior level (Associate or Full Professor) may be considered depending on qualifications and experience. For an associate/full professor appointment, the candidate must have an established reputation for making high quality contributions to top tier journals and evidence of teaching excellence. Proficiency in English is required for this position.

Responsibilities of the position include teaching courses in strategy, entrepreneurship, or management within our undergraduate and graduate programs. In addition to teaching, faculty responsibilities include publishing in leading academic journals, establishing an active and sustainable research program, supervising graduate students, and actively engaging with their academic and professional communities. The Alberta School of Business has an energetic PhD program and the successful candidate will be expected to play an active role in its continuing success and development.
