The College of Health Sciences (CHS) combines the strength of all our health sciences faculties and schools, enabling a new level of interdisciplinary health science research and teaching that advances the full spectrum of human health and wellness in individuals and communities worldwide. Position 

Join us in shaping the future of research excellence as the Research Coordinator within our dynamic team at the college of Health Sciences! Reporting directly to the Manager of Research Projects, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting our mission to advance cutting-edge research initiatives across disciplines.

In this role, you'll collaborate closely with our research team to develop and implement operational frameworks that drive our research services forward. From collaborating with the design of efficient systems to support large-scale research endeavors, you'll be at the forefront of facilitating groundbreaking interdisciplinary projects. Your contributions will not only enhance the effectiveness of our research administration but also empower our researchers to achieve their fullest potential.

Duties 

  • Serve as the primary contact for faculty on research hubs and interdisciplinary activities.
  • Assist developing strategies to encourage collaboration across faculties and colleges.
  • Provide support for research partners, including acting as a research coordinator for targeted funding opportunities and awards.
  • Organize internal reviews, develop resources like tip sheets and proposal repositories, and facilitate workshops and reviewer meetings as needed.
  • Assist developing consistent reporting on research metrics related to the research hub/focus.
  • Assist developing a seminar series for the hub/focus and the college in general.
  • Maintain and update websites, blogs, and social media platforms, and proofread and reformat documents as needed.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree required; Masters or PhD preferred.  
  • 3-5 years research experience required.  
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in use of database, spreadsheet and word processing  software.  
  • Proven ability to take initiative regarding problems and provide recommendations to the Manager and Associate Dean,  Research. 
  • Excellent time management skills with good attention to detail. 
  • Strong skills with U of A applications are preferred (Google, PeopleSoft, Bear Tracks, ARISE, Alfresco, APS appointment process, etc.).  
  • Strong understanding of UAPPOL, RSO is preferred.
