Working for the Department

International Recruitment is responsible for the recruitment of international students to the University of Alberta. International students have a vast range of study options to choose from and many institutions actively trying to recruit them.

The international recruitment team offers potential international students an exceptional experience when they are deciding where to study and convinces qualified students that the U of A is the right choice for them.

Position 

The new position of Virtual Recruitment Specialist will enhance international virtual recruitment activities in order to increase the number of qualified international students choosing to study at the U of A.

Working collaboratively with colleagues across the university, you will enhance existing and implement new virtual activities and campaigns targeted at international students throughout the recruitment cycle. You will play a key role in attracting high-achieving international students to study at the University of Alberta and growing our international student numbers.

Duties 

  • Develops and implements virtual international recruitment strategy
  • Plans, organizes and executes large and small scale virtual events
  • Connects with faculty members to organize and implement faculty-specific virtual events targeted at international students
  • Reviews and enhances email communications flow to prospective international students
  • Maximizes use of the Goodkind video platform

Minimum Qualifications

  • University Degree
  • Minimum 24 months of relevant work experience
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Technical skills and enhanced proliferation of our virtual recruitment strategy
  • Engaging presentation skills and excellent verbal and written skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Slate is an asset
  • Knowledge of university policies and procedures
