The successful applicant will join 19 pediatric cardiologists and three associated researchers providing a full spectrum of clinical pediatric cardiology services with expertise in multi-modal diagnostic imaging, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, fetal cardiology, heart failure, cardiac transplantation, ventricular assist device application, and preventive cardiology. In addition to clinical care, the division is active in teaching at the undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate levels and engaged in research in several areas of expertise.

The Stollery Children’s Hospital Cardiac Program is the 9th largest in North America by surgical volume, a quaternary center providing care for Western Canada. The Division of Pediatric Cardiology has a fully accredited Pediatric Cardiology subspecialty-training program through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada with numerous trainees (undergraduate and postgraduate students, residents and clinical /research fellows) matriculating within the Division each academic year. The Stollery Echocardiography Laboratory performs approximately 12,500 scans a year (~10,000 TTE, ~500 TEE, ~100 clinical 3DE and ~2,000 fetal echoes). The laboratory is supported by 14 sonographers and 8 cardiologists participating in the echocardiography and fetal service roster, along with 4-6 subspecialty imaging fellows annually.  The Echo Lab faculty are leaders in the field of 3D and functional pediatric echocardiography and fetal/perinatal cardiology research, and the Division, as a whole, harbors an active basic and clinical science program, including collaborations at local, national, and international levels. As we build our team, the Department of Pediatrics recognizes that our people are and will continue to be our greatest strength.
