Working for the Department of Accounting and Business Analytics

The Department of Accounting and Business Analytics in the Alberta School of Business, University of Alberta, invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Operations Management. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2025.

Candidates will have graduated from an Operations Management PhD program in an accredited business school. Candidates who are close to PhD completion may be considered; however, the appointment will be contingent upon the completion of the PhD by an agreed-upon date. Candidates will possess an excellent research record or have the potential to publish in top business journals (including Management Science, Operations Research, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, and Production and Operations Management), have a methodological focus on mathematical modelling, and have shown evidence of or demonstrated potential for teaching excellence. Candidates will have a proven track record of (or demonstrated interest in) institution building and service in addition to exceptional scholarship in Operations Management. Proficiency in English is required.

Responsibilities include teaching operations management or business analytics courses in undergraduate and graduate programs, conducting and publishing research in top-tier operations management journals, and service to the School’s academic activities. The Alberta School of Business has an energetic PhD program and the successful candidate will be expected to play an active role in its continuing success and development.
