Location - Work primarily takes place at North Campus Edmonton. This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person.

Working for the Provost and Vice-President (Academic) Office

The Provost and Vice-President (Academic) Office leads the academic mission of the university by ensuring appropriate resource allocation and overseeing the support, infrastructure and administrative units that underpin that mission. The office also works with the team of vice presidents to ensure that all portfolios and goals are aligned towards the achievement of the university's vision and strategic plan.

Position 

Reporting to the Director, Academic Budget & Planning, this role will support Faculties and Units on operational issues of academic planning, enrolment and budgeting. This position supports Faculties and Units in meeting their goals and strategic initiatives.   

The position plays a key role in supporting institutional projects and priorities through planning, monitoring, and managing of specific initiatives and projects from initiation to completion.  The position will support the Director in providing strategic support and financial analysis for ongoing projects, play a key role in connecting with other stakeholders on campus to drive solutions and problem-solving. 

Duties 

  • Support the Director in issues management by researching and developing new solutions and approaches.
  • Liases with faculties and provide advices and guidance on issues.
  • Manage initiatives as assigned by leadership or leadership councils and lead complex specialized project work. 
  • Support faculties and the Office of the Provost with enrolment growth planning, financial and qualitative analysis and external proposals.
  • Support the Office of the Provost and faculties in reviewing internal financial proposals and program development.
  • Support institutional review in program costing, reviewing and analyzing results, providing insightful recommendations and communication to stakeholders.
  • Support the University's strategic planning and integrated budgeting processes and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting/finance roles with experience managing projects/initiatives
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a related area
  • CPA designation
  • Exceptional business writing and editing skills, and research skills
  • Superior analytical reasoning and organization skills
  • Sound judgment and experience dealing with confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative, be flexible, and to multitask
  • Proven teamwork and leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications

  •  PMP designation is considered an asset
