Working for the Department

The Organizational Development and Talent Management (ODTM) team drives individual and organizational growth through strategic initiatives. ODTM enhances employee skills, strengthens leadership capabilities, identifies and nurtures high-potential talent, and develops talent acquisition strategies, all while fostering a positive workplace culture. This ensures the organization remains adaptable and aligned with evolving strategic goals.

Position 

Reporting to the Director of Organizational Development and Talent Management, the Manager of Organizational Development is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive professional and leadership development programs. These programs aim to enhance the skills, knowledge, and capabilities of employees and faculty members. This role focuses on fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth, aligning training initiatives with the organization’s strategic goals, and developing a high-performing workforce.

The Manager of Organizational Development leads the team in identifying training needs, developing tailored learning solutions, and measuring the effectiveness of training programs to support organizational success and employee career development. Additionally, the Manager builds a Community of Learning to connect and co-create with learners, collaborate with internal clients, and work with external vendors and consultants. This collaborative approach aims to transform learners and the workplace, ultimately supporting the University's strategic goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; Master's degree is considered an asset;
  • Education background and/or certificate in adult learning-related areas;
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in adult learning and leadership development;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading a team;
  • Demonstrated experience in Leadership and Team Management;
  • Experience in Adult Learning, Curriculum Development and Facilitation;
  • Excellent Relationship Management, Communication and Interpersonal Skills;
  • Strong Problem-Solving, Strategic Thinking and Planning Skills;
  • A track record of driving performance and achieving measurable outcomes, with a focus on meeting and exceeding targets through effective team leadership and resource management;
  • Post-secondary and public sector experience is considered an asset.
