Position Summary
This position provides administrative and customer service support for campus residence. Reporting to the Lead Assignment Coordinator, the Service Desk Assistant will work full-time (May-September), focusing on a number of detailed projects such as providing support for move in preparations, completing a key inventory for all residences, and updating building access control. In addition, the Service Desk Assistant will also demonstrate a highly professional image as a front-line contact to students, families, guests, and staff. Extensive communication skills will be used to convey information both in person and in writing. This position will play a key role in providing administrative and customer service support, requiring extensive interpersonal, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
- Administration - 50%
- Provides day-to-day administrative and clerical support to the Occupancy Management team
- Assists with annual key inventory
- Assists with the preparation and processing of Move-in material
- Assists with access control to residence buildings
- Assists with preparation and processing of Move-out material
- Cancels and changes applications upon receipt of student requests
- Assists with file preparations, daily filing, and file management
- Assists with projects, statistics, and research
- Other duties as assigned
- Customer Service - 50%
- Answers questions, concerns, complaints and deals with in-person, telephone, and e-mail requests from current and prospective residents
- Responds to written correspondence
- Issues temporary keys
- Ensures that professional service is provided to all customers, that policies and procedures are adhered to, and that maximizing customer satisfaction is strived for at all times
Qualifications and Assets
- Must have exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and attention to detail skills
- Must have excellent communication and customer service skills
- Must be responsible, resourceful, and willing to work as part of a team
- Previous residence experience is a strong asset but not necessary
