Location - This role is in-person at the Kaye Edmonton Clinic.

Working for the School of Dentistry
The School of Dentistry Oral Health Clinic (OHC) located on the 8th Floor of the Kaye Edmonton Clinic provides oral health care services.
Position Summary
This position supports graduate students and faculty in providing hands-on care to patients undergoing orthodontic treatment in the Orthodontics Graduate Program. Registered Dental Assistants must have strong orthodontic skills to assist with patient care and a solid working knowledge of digital radiography, intraoral scanning, and practice management software. Be part of a collaborative team supporting orthodontic care in a dynamic university setting.
Duties
- Working within their scope of practice to provide intra-oral care to patients during orthodontic treatment and patient care.
- Assist, mentor and support graduate students, orthodontists and/instructors in the delivery of orthodontic care for the daily operation of the clinic.
- Communicating effectively with graduate students, instructors/faculty, patients and parents.
- Competent with technology to include but not limited to: digital radiographs, intraoral scanning, practice management software.
- Ensures that IPC protocols and procedures are followed as per the School IPC Protocols.
Qualifications
- Diploma/Certificate from an accredited Dental Assisting Program or NDAEB Certification to include Orthodontic Module.
- Current registration with CADA and CDAA.
- Current CPR: Health Care Provider Level C certification; Knowledge of WHMIS.
- Two years, minimum, of previous RDA experience in an orthodontic specialty practice.
- Knowledge of dental materials management, dental instrumentation and dental equipment.
- Knowledge of Orthodontic software to support practice management and imaging needs, including photographs and radiographs.
- Demonstrated skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and perform tasks accurately with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
