Position Summary
Reporting to the Informatics and Quality Supervisor, the Quality Coordinator is based at the Northeast Community Health Clinic and is responsible for coordinating the implementation of quality assurance and control projects at their site, including, but not limited to implementation and management of an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System.
The Coordinator will be the primary contact for all parties associated with quality projects and is responsible for coordinating the business aspects of such projects including management of related funds and accounts, training, coaching, and evaluation of users, including clinic staff, physicians, residents and students.
The Coordinator will champion primary care renewal initiatives and be responsible for the process of data collection and reporting.
Duties
- Manages an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System including training, orientation and coaching for
- physicians, staff members and learners;
- Acts as primary contact for all EMR users and vendors at the site;
- Functions as the Clinic Privacy Officer, maintaining security records, tracking logs, ensuring compliance with
- the HIA, and participating in privacy breach investigations;
- Project manages all site EMR-related projects;
- Develops quality improvement project plans;
- Handles all incoming requests for health information in accordance with the HIA
- Acts as Practice Quality Improvement facilitator;
- Creates and assure accuracy of reporting for various projects, including collection of data for Department
- projects;
- Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum High School diploma supplemented with coursework in medical administration and/or IT administration;
- Minimum 5 years of medical office experience;
- Working knowledge of MedAccess EMR;
- QI experience in AIM, AIW, IHI, Lean or similar framework;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and vendors;
Preferred Qualifications
- Project management training/coursework preferred;
- Ability to provide leadership for change management, conflict resolution, communication and team work;
- Coursework or experience in basic bookkeeping preferred;
- Able to work with high level of independence
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills;
- Advanced skills with MS Office, exemplary Excel skills.
